Target audience

The Disaster Management program is multidisciplinary and as such, accepts students from various backgrounds

  • Social Sciences (e.g. Social Work, Media and Communication, Geography, Public Policy, Sociology) 

  • Security Studies 

  • Business Management, Education 

  • Healthcare and medical professions  

  • Engineering 

  • Natural Sciences and Environmental Studies

  • Humanitarian Studies

The program applies to individuals with relevant professional experience, and attracts students employed in the public sector (governance offices, Arms Forces, local municipalities), in the private sector (industrial, high-tech, corporate) and the third sector (NGOs, humanitarian aid organizations and charities).

 

The program also attracts students from other professional backgrounds such as media, law, education, etc.

The relevant organizations from which potential students may come from include: the police, IDF (with an emphasis on the Front Home Command), Ministry of Defense and other government offices involved in the field, Magen David Adom, Fire and Rescue, the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), the Evacuation & Relief Authority, the National Rescue Agency, relevant emergency infrastructure managers (government or private), health care system (trauma units, Emergency Departments, hospitals’ managements, clinics), civil support organizations, humanitarian organizations, emergency managers in local municipalities and media entities.
