New Hanover County is seeking an Emergency Management Specialist with expertise in technological emergency management to oversee our incident management software WebEOC. An on-site subject matter expert with extensive experience in WebEOC is essential to ensure that we meet New Hanover County's communications, logistics, situational awareness, and record retentions objectives. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff is prepared and trained for any incidents by providing necessary WebEOC administration and support by training County personnel and partner agencies on EOC functions and assignments and by facilitating communications and helping to ensure that EM standards and processes are followed during disaster responses. As a technological specialist, this position would also assist in the management of the 800mhz radio system, tower sites, and radio equipment. This position also serves in a response role for countywide incidents.

The WHO internship programme has three objectives: (a) to provide a framework for assigning students from diverse academic backgrounds to WHO programmes, where educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments; (b) to expose students to the work of WHO and (c) to provide WHO programmes with the assistance of students specializing in various fields.
