Prof. Yehuda Lerman

Prof. Yehuda Lerman is a board certified physician in Occupational Medicine, with accreditation in Public Health and Health Administration. On October 1, 2017, Prof. Lerman was appointed as the Head of the School of Public Health at Tel Aviv University.

Prof. Lerman completed his MD studies with honors at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1977, and received his MPH in 1988.

Prof. Lerman served in the IDF for many years, including as the Director of the IDF’s Public Health Branch. Subsequently, Prof. Lerman worked for many years at Clalit Health Services, the largest HMO in Israel, where he served as the Director of the Center for Occupational Medicine until August 2017.

In addition, Prof. Lerman was a research fellow at the Environmental Health Laboratory, the Department of Community Medicine and Preventive Medicine, and the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at the Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. As of 2018, Prof. Lerman holds an appointment as an Adjuct Professor at the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at the Mount Sinai Medical School in New York.

Prof. Lerman joined the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in 1987 and has been a Professor of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine since 2006. Within the School of Public Health, Prof. Lerman has served as the Curriculum Committee Chairperson, Department Head Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine Department, and Program Head for the Masters in Public Health program. Over the span of his career Prof. Lerman has advised many students in pursuit of graduate and doctoral degrees.

Prof. Yehuda Lerman is a member of several of national advisory councils in the field of preventive medicine and occupational medicine, is a member of Collegium Remazzini and has published over 160 articles on public health and occupational medicine.
