How do we prepare the next generation of doctors and healthcare professionals? A glimpse into the Helmsley Medical Simulations Center Symposium!
Tomorrow’s medicine begins here and now!
The Helmsley Medical Simulations Center is currently being built in our faculty - a place that will change the way medicine and health professions are learned. Thanks to the generous donation of the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, the new Center will allow our students to experience real medical situations, practice without risk, learn to cope with complex challenges - all in a safe and supportive environment.
On January 7, 2025, we gathered at the Natural History Museum for an inspiring first symposium led by Dr. Keren Shatzman, which was opened by Prof. Karen Avraham, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, with the participation of leading experts from Israel and around the world - Prof. Amitai Ziv, Dr. Oren Wacht, Prof. Carolyn Weiniger, Netta Pur Eisenberg, Prof. Matthew Sibbald and Prof. Jonathan Sherbino from McMaster University in Canada, with whom the Helmsley Center has begun collaboration.
Together, we discussed the importance of simulations in shaping the future generation of doctors and healthcare professionals in Israel.
