Gray Faculty Doctoral Student Eran Sdeor Awarded Prestigious Azrieli Fellowship
Eran Sdeor, a doctoral student at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, has been awarded an Azrieli Graduate Studies Fellowship, one of Israel's most prestigious fellowships for outstanding doctoral researchers.
Eran Sdeor, a doctoral student in the laboratory of Prof. Uri Ben-David in the Department of Human Genetics and Computational Medicine at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University, has been awarded an Azrieli Graduate Studies Fellowship.
The Azrieli Fellows Program recognizes outstanding graduate students on the basis of academic excellence, research potential, leadership, and commitment to society. The program also promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and supports the development of the next generation of academic leaders in Israel.
Sdeor completed his undergraduate studies with honors at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Life Sciences before joining the direct Ph.D. track at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
His research combines genomic and functional approaches to investigate catastrophic chromosomal events in cancer, with a particular focus on aneuploidy—a hallmark of cancer cells characterized by an abnormal number of chromosomes.
As part of his doctoral research, Sdeor is investigating one of the most common chromosomal alterations in cancer, with the goal of uncovering new biological mechanisms and contributing to the development of more personalized therapeutic strategies.
