Noam Rattner Awarded Prestigious Foulkes Foundation Fellowship

Noam Rattner has been awarded the prestigious Foulkes Foundation Fellowship, granted to outstanding students enrolled in integrated clinician-scientist training programs. Administered in Israel by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the fellowship supports the next generation of medical researchers and promotes excellence in translational research that bridges basic science and clinical practice.

Noam is a student in the combined D.M.D.-Ph.D. program at the Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine, Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University. He is conducting his doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Lihi Adler-Abramovich in the Laboratory for Bioinspired Materials and Nanotechnology.

His research focuses on developing innovative bone-regenerative materials with antibacterial properties based on self-assembling short peptides and hybrid peptide-polysaccharide hydrogels. He develops biologically active, antibacterial, and immunomodulatory scaffolds and integrates them into 3D-printed titanium implants to improve implant integration, promote new bone formation, and reduce infection and inflammation.

By combining molecular-level materials design, biological investigation, and preclinical models, his research aims to develop personalized solutions for the reconstruction of complex bone defects.

Alongside his doctoral research, Noam continues his dental studies and aspires to pursue a career as a clinician-scientist in dentistry and regenerative medicine.
