

Prof. (Emeritus) Gregory (Zvi) Livshits
Prof. Gregory (Zvi) Livshits is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Anatomy and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University’s Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, where he also held the Pollak Chair of Biological Anthropology.
His research focuses on the genetic and metabolic bases of age-dependent chronic degenerative conditions such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, disc degeneration, and sarcopenia, exploring how genetic variation influences musculoskeletal aging and disease.
Prof. Livshits has published extensively on quantitative genetics, skeletal aging, body composition, and related biomarkers, collaborating internationally and mentoring many students. In addition to his work at TAU, he is an Honorary Research Fellow at King’s College Medical School in London.
His scholarship bridges biological anthropology, genetics, and clinical relevance to improve understanding of human health and aging.
