

Dr. Viviane Slon
Dr. Viviane Slon is the head of the Ancient DNA facility at the Dan David Center for Human Evolution and Biohistory Research, and a Senior Lecturer in the Departments of Anatomy and Anthropology and Human Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at the Gray Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University (Israel).
She earned her MSc and BSc from Tel Aviv University and completed her PhD and postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (Germany).
Dr. Slon specializes in recovering and analyzing ancient human DNA, including pioneering work on ancient DNA from sediments at archaeological sites.
She is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Dan David Prize Scholarship for Young Researchers (2017), the Otto Hahn Medal (2018), the Rosalind Franklin Young Investigator Award (2022), and the Krill Prize (2023).
