Short Bio

Rina Rosin-Arbesfeld is a Professor at Tel Aviv University and served as the preclinical vice dean at the Gray Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences.

Her lab focuses on cellular signaling pathways that regulate development and tissue integrity.  Disruption of these pathways is strongly linked to human diseases.

One pathway, the Wnt cascade, is a central regulator of development and tissue homeostasis, and its dysregulation underlies a wide spectrum of diseases, most notably colorectal cancer (CRC).

The lab investigates fundamental and translational aspects of Wnt biology to uncover mechanisms that drive disease and identify therapeutic opportunities. Through genetic and biochemical screens, the team discovers novel regulators of the pathway.

Ongoing pre-clinical and clinical studies are focused on restoring the tumor-suppressive function of APC, a negative regulator of Wnt signaling frequently mutated in CRC.

Beyond cancer, the lab explores how Wnt signaling shapes immune function in mature circulating cells and influences host–microbiome interactions in the gut.
