Dr. Oren Kobiler
Short Bio

Oren Kobiler is an associate professor at the Gray School of Medical Sciences at Tel Aviv University. He holds a B.Sc., M.D., and Ph.D. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He has continued to pursue post-doctoral studies at Princeton University.

The Kobiler lab is dedicated to exploring the interactions between viruses and their host cells, with a goal to discover novel antiviral therapies. His research primarily concentrates on herpes simplex viruses, which are among the most prevalent human pathogens and can lead to a variety of diseases.

Dr. Kobiler employs state-of-the-art experimental techniques, including live-cell microscopy, sophisticated image analysis, next-generation sequencing, and various innovative methodologies. Through these cutting-edge tools, he has made significant progress in identifying key properties of how herpesviruses interact with host cells.
