Dr. Merav Cohen
Merav Cohen is an assistant professor at Tel Aviv University, the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, where she is the Head of a systems Immunology laboratory.
She is a member of the Early Career Researcher committee of the European Association of Cancer Research.
She conducted her postdoctoral research at the Immunology department at the Weizmann Institute, in the field of 'Immuno-Genomics', and at the Department of Oncological Sciences, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NYC in the field of 'Tumor-Immunology'.
She holds M.Sc. in biotechnology engineering (Ben-Gurion University) and a Ph.D. in 'Neuro-Immunology' from the Weizmann Institute.
Her research focuses on dissecting the intercellular communication between immune and tissue resident cells by incorporating and developing single-cell RNA-sequencing based technologies, murine models, clinical approaches and computational methods.
The Cohen's lab aims to assess similarities and discrepancies in interactome molecular signature between tissue development and cancerous conditions to identify novel immunotherapy targets, directed against intercellular crosstalk.
