Prof. Limor Landsman
Short Bio

Limor Landsman, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University, where she heads the Pancreas Biology Laboratory.

She earned her B.Sc. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science.

She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the UCSF Diabetes Center, studying pancreas development and disease.

Since joining Tel Aviv University in 2012, Dr. Landsman has established a multidisciplinary research program focused on the pancreatic microenvironment in health and disease. Her pioneering work identified pancreatic pericytes as key regulators of β-cell function and glucose homeostasis.

Her lab continues to explore how pericyte-derived signals influence islet development, inflammation, and regeneration, with implications for diabetes and pancreatic cancer.

She has received major funding, including ERC Starting and Consolidator Grants, and has published over 30 papers in leading journals such as Developmental Cell, JCI, and Diabetes. She also serves on several scientific advisory boards.
