Dr. Inbal Wortzel
Short Bio

Dr. Inbal Wortzel is an Assistant Professor at the Grey School of Medical Sciences, Tel Aviv University, and a Zuckerman Faculty Scholar.

Her research focuses on extracellular vesicle (EV) DNA in cancer progression, particularly how tumor-derived EVs modulate immune responses and shape pre-metastatic niches. Combining molecular biology, immunology, and imaging, her lab investigates tumor-host communication to uncover mechanisms driving metastasis.

Dr. Wortzel completed her postdoctoral training at Weill Cornell Medicine in the lab of Prof. David Lyden, studying the role of EV-DNA in metastatic progression and immune activation.

She earned her PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science and holds M.Sc and B.Sc degrees from Bar-Ilan University.

At Tel Aviv University, she leads a lab focused on the molecular and cellular processes underlying cancer dissemination, aiming to develop EV-based biomarkers and therapies. Dr. Wortzel is dedicated to advancing cancer research and mentoring the next generation of biomedical scientists.
