

Prof. (Emeritus) Illana Gozes
Illana Gozes is a full Professor (Emerita) at Tel Aviv University, heading Dr. Diana and Zelman Elton (Elbaum) Laboratory for Molecular Neuroendocrinology (former Lily and Avraham Gildor Chair for the Investigation of Growth Factors). Past President, European Society for Neurochemistry, Editor-in-Chief Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, Vice President Drug Development ExoNavis Therapeutics.
She received her B.Sc. from Tel Aviv University and Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science (Landau Prize), Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT, Research Associate at the Salk Institute, USA.
Authored ~400 publications, multiple book chapters and edited 3 books (>41,000 citations, H-index 88, Google Scholar, globally named #3 in Molecular Neuroscience, ScholarGPS®). Named inventor on 125 patents/applications, licensed to Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies. Founded a spin-off company, which performed 11 clinical trials. Discovered activity-dependent neuroprotective protein (ADNP) and derived the investigational drug davunetide in clinical development by ExoNavis supported by multidisciplinary preclinical investigations at Gozes Tel Aviv University laboratory.
